Loved by the Night | Halloween Limited Edition Perfume

The Scent:
The fragrance of roses and ash, gilded paper, antique woods, and frankincense smoke 

The Story:
He had a love once. He had never dared to hope he could find such happiness. She came into his life and took away all his darkness. She had the golden hair of his lost sunshine, the beauty of her smile only matched by the music of her laughter. He treasured her and loved her with every fiber of his self. But for all his love he could not save her. He could not keep her from the sickness that washed over the land and she slipped away from him as quickly and quietly as she had entered his life.

After she was gone, the darkness once again consumed him. There would never be any light for him in the world without her, no beauty, no music. He walked the night as days turned into years and slipped into decades, and spilled to centuries, not feeling not seeing.

Then one night, unremarkable as the thousand others he heard something. So faint he scarcely believed it. Then again! That music, that laughter, coming to his ears on the night’s breeze. Had he still had a beating heart it would have stopped at that sound. He ran towards the melody, a warmth growing in his chest. However impossible it was, he knew that laugh. There on the side of the street, just under the lamplight she stood in all her sunshine beauty. His love. Impossible but there. He had found her again as she lived another life. She seemed to sense his gaze as she turned to look directly at him. Confusion flickered over her face but as the looked into one another’s eyes, her expression began to soften. She took a hesitant step towards him and then another, right into the path of the carriage. His world exploded again for a second time and he was holding her. As her dimming eyes looked into his all she said was “I know you” and then she was gone.

He found her and lost her again. If he found her a second time, he could find here again.
Now he sits in his moldering library, among tomes and parchment, maps and records. He tracks her through time, born and lost, born and lost again. For he has forever to search and eternity to wait for her to come back to him. He will find his sunlight again, no matter how long it takes and then she too will be loved by the night.
